Work at Height & Technical Rescue Training Courses
Ensuring safety in high-risk environments requires more than just equipment—it requires elite competency. Section20 provides comprehensive Work at Height training and Rescue Operation courses accredited by our RTO partners. Whether you are a rigger, telecommunications technician, or emergency responder, our Gosford-based facility offers the real-world simulations needed to ensure workplace compliance and lives saved.
Industry-Leading Height Safety Compliance
At Section20, we believe that training should be as dynamic as the environments you work in. Our height safety management programs are delivered through a blend of theoretical knowledge and intensive practical assessments. We cater to diverse client groups, ensuring that every individual walks away with the confidence to identify hazards, install fall-arrest systems, and execute life-saving rescues.
Course: Work Safely at Height (RIIWHS204E)
This foundational course is essential for anyone required to perform tasks where a fall risk exists. Designed to meet the stringent requirements of Australian Standards (AS/NZS 1891.4), this program is the industry benchmark for Height Safety Operators and Supervisors.
What You Will Learn:
Hazard Identification:
Mastering site-specific work requirements and procedures.
Equipment Mastery:
Selection, installation, and inspection of fall-protection gear.
Operational Performance:
Executing work at height while maintaining 100% tie-off.
Compliance:
Understanding State Legislation, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards.
Duration: 8 Hours | Prerequisites: None
Accreditation: Nationally Recognised (RIIWHS204E - Level 2 Operator compliant)
Course: Co-Worker Rescue & Emergency Care
In a fall-arrest event, time is the enemy. Our Co-Worker Rescue course goes beyond basic safety to teach the technical skills required to participate in a rescue operation. This course is vital for teams who must meet the legal requirement of having a tested rescue plan in place.
Advanced Rescue Competencies:
Rapid Response:
Preparing and responding to vertical rescue scenarios.
Risk Mitigation:
Contributing to dynamic risk assessments at the scene of an incident.
Emergency Care: Identifying the need for medical intervention and assessing casualties.
Operational Conclusion: Recovering equipment and completing critical safety documentation.
Units of Competency: PUASAR022A (Participate in a rescue operation) & PUAEME001B (Emergency Care).
Prerequisites: Current Work Safely at Height certificate.
NART: Non-Accredited Rescue Training
Under WHS Regulations, emergency and rescue procedures must not only exist but be regularly tested. Our Non-Accredited Rescue Training (NART) is a bespoke solution for businesses using specific fall-arrest systems that require tailored rescue protocols.
NART training focuses on your organisation’s specific Rescue Plan. We utilise your actual site equipment to simulate real-world work environments, ensuring your staff are proficient in:
Basic knots, rigging, and anchor systems specific to your site.
Managing loads, forces, and rope protection.
Incident management and site control protocols.
Note: While no formal revalidation period applies, it is highly recommended that rescue training be refreshed every 12 months to maintain operational readiness.
Important Training Information
To ensure the best outcome for our participants, Section20 maintains a minimum of four participants per booking. This fosters a collaborative learning environment essential for rescue simulations.
What to Bring: All students must wear closed-in footwear (safety boots preferred) and work-appropriate attire suitable for climbing and practical simulations.
