Professional SPRAT Rope Access Training & Certification
Industrial rope access is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the Australian construction and maintenance industries. At Section20, we provide world-class SPRAT (Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians) training. This certification is essential for riggers, window cleaners, NDT technicians, and engineers who need to reach "unreachable" places safely and efficiently.
The SPRAT Pathway: Level 1, 2, and 3
The SPRAT system is designed as a career ladder, ensuring that as a technician gains experience, they also gain the safety management skills required for higher levels of responsibility.

Why SPRAT vs. IRATA?
While both systems are globally recognised, SPRAT certification is often praised for its focus on practical skill and its transparent evaluation criteria. SPRAT is widely accepted across North America and Australia, making it a versatile choice for technicians looking to work on large-scale infrastructure projects, offshore rigs, or high-rise maintenance.
What to Expect During Your Training Week
Our training week is intensive. You will spend 80% of your time in a harness. We cover everything from the basic physics of knots to the legalities of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act. On the final day, an independent external evaluator will assess your skills. This independence ensures that a Section20-trained technician is truly competent and safe. Our Gosford facility features high-clearance steelwork and varied anchor points, providing the perfect playground to master your maneuver’s before the evaluation day.
